Beneath the Shine by Sarah Fine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
That was not what I expected, in the best sort of way. The characters are truly different in this, and they let their experiences and emotions cloud their judgment at times, which leaves you wondering who is really right and who is wrong.
The story also has a lot to say about crooked politics, but all in a future world. I confess I’m tired of politics at the moment, but this kept my attention, as it was more about the subtle ways people lie, manipulate, or sculpt a story to their benefit.
