This is my 2nd time through this one, and while I still love the concept and the interesting characters, there is still something about this one that just doesn’t flow as well for me. It doesn’t quite touch the awesome space that book one lives in, even though I do still love the format. It also has pretty good world building, and some interesting sci-fi and space time concepts.

I can’t quit put my finger on the disconnect. The first time I read it, I thought maybe it was me and I was being a poor reader. This time through, I realized it’s not me, or at least it’s not be being a bad reader. This just doesn’t click in and fit easily like book one. I got confused a lot more, found myself rewinding more, and I had trouble connecting to and remembering some of the side characters.

It’s a solid effort, and still has a unique plot. But I can’t love it in the way I loved book 1.
