Something like Normal by Trish Doller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was a great, quick read with a lot of depth. I just picked it up on a whim, because I liked the tag line: “war is only half the battle.”
I enjoyed Travis’s perspective. He was a genuine, honest character who made plenty of mistakes but kept trying. One of my favorite parts was the relationship he had and developed with his mother. He came to understand her more as an adult and less like a frustrated kid. It was gorgeous character growth and very touching.
