My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is a thrilling book with lots of twists and turns that will have you questioning the boundaries of both medicine and morality.
Anna was genetically engineered to be a perfect organ, tissue, and fluid donor for her critically ill sister, Kate. For thirteen years, Anna is poked, prodded, and put through many different medical procedures to help save Kate’s life…until the day she gets a lawyer and refuses to go through one more procedure or donate one more body part to save her sister.
Anna’s decision is basically a death sentence for Kate. The real question is will you support her or hate her for it? Read this book to find out what happens to both Anna and Kate and to better understand the hard situation that families are put in when children become ill.
(PS: Don’t watch the movie. They ruined it by rewriting the whole ending)
