Book Review: Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1)Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sometimes reading a companion series is hard. Even when you remind yourself it’s not the original series, it leaves the door open for comparisons. While this is different, I really enjoyed the story. I also loved that some of the side characters from VA got a chance to play bigger roles in this story.

There were less surprises for me in this book, because I saw things coming a lot sooner than I ever did while reading VA. However, that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, nor did it take away from my overall enjoyment of the story.

Adrian kept me reading, while Sydney slowly grew on me. I liked her in VA, but now I’m rather fond of her. I’ve also always had a soft spot for Eddie, so I’m glad he’s part of this series too.

    • Thanks! I like to get to the point. I figure people can read summaries anywhere, so I try to stick to what stands out the most or how I relate to it from a writing perspective. 🙂
